UAE to drive tourism resurgence with a series of consumer events
09 May 2021 Retail Abu Dhabi will continue to strengthen the emirate’s position as a world-class shopping destination. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced plans to boost the recovery of the emirate’s tourism industry by rolling out a series of new retail consumer events, promotions, and campaigns in 2021 under its dedicated retail platform, Retail Abu Dhabi.
The new events will expand on a successful 2020, which saw a series of innovative programmes, such as the Vogue Fashion’s Night In Powered by Retail Abu Dhabi, seasonal initiatives including the Unbox Amazing summer campaign, and the signature Abu Dhabi Winter Shopping Season, which generated a 23 per cent growth on total transactions (YoY), and 17 per cent growth in spending, with retail sector sales topping Dhs2.4 billion on Visa cards alone in participating malls.

HAIKOU, China, May 8, 2021 /PRNewswire/ As reported by the Hainan International Media Center (HIMC), on May 7th, the first day of the inaugural China International Consumer Products Expo ( Hainan Expo ), there were about 48,000 visitors to participate in this event in Haikou, the capital city of China s southernmost province Hainan.
As China s first-ever national level expo focusing on quality consumer goods, this four-day event has attracted 1,500 enterprises from 70 countries and regions as well as more than 20,000 professional buyers.
